Helping Ears, Changing Lives
Providing Essential Hearing Services to Remote Communities
Our Story
Helping Ears was founded by Robyn and Steven, a husband-and-wife team driven by compassion and purpose. The idea was born during a holiday in Fiji, where a conversation with a hotel manager revealed a critical lack of allied healthcare services, particularly for children suffering from ear conditions. Realising their expertise could make a real impact, they were inspired to act.
Around the same time, patients at their private practice often asked what could be done with unused hearing devices. This simple question, combined with their experience in Fiji, sparked the creation of Helping Ears, a charitable initiative dedicated to delivering hearing care to those who need it most.
Our Mission and Impact
At the heart of Helping Ears lies a dual commitment: improving access to hearing care and reducing environmental impact. Over the past two years, the team has treated more than 800 patients, trained local medical professionals, supported community education, and conducted vital school screenings.
Their work extends beyond hearing services, providing supplies to schools and community centres to nurture long-term wellbeing. Helping Ears stands for more than just hearing—it represents listening to communities, promoting sustainability, and empowering futures through compassion and care.
