Hearing tests for toddlers

Our specially-designed hearing tests for toddlers are an enjoyable experience for every young child.
Toddlers (and babies who can sit upright) are tested using a puppet show to train a response to sound that comes from a speaker.

How do hearing tests for toddlers work?

This test provides more information than the infant test, in that it tests the child’s response and not just the response of the ear to sound. The overall hearing of both ears is assessed using this test.

The test is painless, fun for the child and usually requires 30 minutes to complete. Essentially the puppets are a visual stimulus to capture the attention of the toddler during the hearing test. The toddler will quickly learn to associate our test sounds with that of the puppets, giving us a reliable indication of whether the child has sufficient hearing for normal speech and language development.
